Strunz & Farah

Friday, September 14, 2012, 8 PM
Herbst Theatre in San Francisco

From Costa Rica and Iran respectively, Jorge Strunz and Ardeshir Farah, duo acoustic guitarists, play highly virtuosic, rhythmic and improvisational original compositions that are a blend of Flamenco, Afro-Latin and Latin Folk, Middle Eastern and Jazz forms. They are a very powerful and popular live act backed by an international ensemble of world-class musicians.

Opening the show will be San Francisco Bay Area’s own, Peppino D’Agostino, a giant of the acoustic guitar, with special guest artist, world-renowned drummer, Jeff Campitelli. Peppino regularly performs concerts throughout North and South America, Canada and Europe and he has released eight critically acclaimed solo albums. Acoustic Guitar magazine says “he is one of the most capable composers among the fingerstyle guitarists.” We strive to educate and train the public through lectures and workshops in performing arts appreciation, techniques, history, and other areas of interest concerning the performing arts, to upgrade the quality and prestige of the performing artist, to provide teaching environments where performing artists can teach performing art techniques to the pubic both privately and in small groups, and to stage special performing art events and festivals in the community for the general public.

You may want to arrive early to enjoy the Luxo Jazz Ensemble performing at 7:30 pm.
